Jimmie Martinez, age 54, passed away on November 7, 2016 in Beaumont, Texas surrounded by family and loved ones. Jimmie's life was dedicated to helping others by serving as a Paramedic and Firemen throughout his entire career.

Jimmie was born on June 1, 1962 in Corpus Christi Texas to Jimmie L. and Viola (Bebe) Martinez. He attended Incarnate Word Academy Elementary, Junior High and High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1980.

Jimmie served the Nueces County ESD#2 (Flour Bluff) from 1982-Present, Nueces County ESD#1 (Annaville) 2003-2006, Lumberton Fire & EMS as Assistant Fire Marshal and Firefighter/EMT from 2006-2014. He is also a Past President of the 21-County East Texas Firemen's and Fire Marshals Association.  

Jimmie joined the fire department as a volunteer in 1982. He then moved into a full time position in 1988 until 1995 moving up the ranks to Captain, Assistant chief & Deputy Chief, he received firefighter of the year award and the medal of Valor and remained a volunteer with us until the end. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

He is survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends who were all dear to him.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Inurnment will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
